hey i've been following this page for info about this event. i live near malibu and i went to the santa monica beach, the problem is the beach is huge. i saw a huge crowd of people just waiting. i went over and saw that they didn't find anything. they were all looking into the ocean waiting for a big daddy to shoot up or something hahahaha. anyway i got in my car and drove up and down the beach looking for another group but i saw nothing until i looked closer at a street sign i had passed a few times. when i saw it i felt really stupid. by the time i got to the beach all the bottles were gone. the crowd got there before me. :( but the funny thing is they were still all standing there waiting for something to happen hahahaha.

Great story guys! At least you got to be apart of all this. Its really cool to see 2k doing all of this stuff. To bad no one got any bottles. >.< Now they will be up on Ebay for a couple hundred dollars.

And Master_B, he tried to sell it to you for 100 dollars? Thats just a bit ridiculous.

:) Well..GANG...
It hurts to be right;but, what can I say....
And, the "fact" that fans of this "up-and-coming" sequel to "BioShock"..have---been so "greedy" with it's findings.
And also, what the main distributor of this "new" sequel, probably knew, that this just might..happen..
Major bummer,man...
Well--this whole "thing" has just added "fuel to the fire", of it's inevitable launch...
Kinda "sours" the taste;but, I am sure will NOT reduce;but, excellerate it's sales at launch/street date.
Of this...I am sure of...
Peace-------to ALL....
"Ole' Joe :)

Well, in my last attempt to get one of these bottles, I am sending a letter to 2k posing as another man that lost his child, pleading to mark to disclose any information he found at the beaches. I Put tea all over the letter and envelope and burnt both of them. Hopefully the flashy look of it is enough to get one myself.

Wow they really did it. Wish i could have gotten down to Brighton beach but with work and it being a 6 hour round trip i'd have had no chance.

I think it's deplorable that this event turned out to be another way for eBay sellers to make money off of dedicated BioShock Fans. I heard of non-fans gathering up bottles just to sell online. I just wish that there was a way that actual fans could be involved in these viral campaigns without getting ripped-off. I know many fans that would have loved to have a bottle without paying $150+ for it. Stop feeding the Ebay machine!

I so agree, i've sent Mark like 3 letters.. and I haven't got any Wine Bottle i've got the Record but c'mon.. give the good stuff to the fans the follow every thing you give us, playing with every little hint- Don't give the swag to people who don't even know about the game to sell on ebay and make a quick buck. Good promotion still though.

As I said prior(above)...
THIS was a "promo"---nothing more... Just to "juice-up" the pre-orders', and such. A gimmick, a "come-on".
White-Collar Corporate America doesn't "care" who, or what is done with their "promotions". However "contrived" they are.
IT's all just a "money game"... And, we're ALL just "dollars signs'"---to Corporate america.
Nothing more...
Peace,
Ole' Joe [sick.gif]

Truth---you couldn't "handle"---the "truth"...
Later,man.....

I think this is the first time anyone has likened me to a homogeneous thing such as "white collar corporate america." While I'll leave you to decide my status on that front, I can tell you the idea that we don't "care" or that this event was just for pre-orders is entirely false.

Also: hi!

Well---
The "out-come" of this promo. People who weren't even tried & true fans of the original game;who, got most of these "bottles";then, put them up on E-Bay---and, if..you happen to look are going to make quite a lot of money, on something that should have been free in the first place---For the "real" fans.
So, doing what was done within this "promo" idea---might of been "innocent";but, with the actual out-come of what was done by the promotional people---whoever they are.
Didn't "think out"(brain storm) as to the many possibilities of this concept/idea.
NOT--from where I'm looking. I read what the "out-come" was. I read and found the stated facts of people, that saw how to "scalp" others' through this "promotion". And, are doing that right now...
And, NOT sorry to say--this will have the effect of majorly increasing "pre-orders". Which, isn't bad for 2k...
What else, and for what other reason??? Obvious---to me. White-collar Corporate America..hum..
My experiences with these so-called people is, as stated---out for themselves and the "heck" with every one else. Can't help what I and many other "blue-collar workers"---The ones' who do,or I should say--did the real actual hard "work";but, never got "credit" for it---except a friggin' lay-off. Which, they "White-Collar Corporate America" have, and are putting the "working force" of America(what's left of it) through...again---right now...
It has "always" been this way,and continues in the same fashion. The words and way things are done, hasn't changed---just the people that run the "show".
And to think---WE used to be a country that actually cared about it's own workers'--here at home.
So, truth is a 'bummer", and then you are stuck with it... And, THAT is the "reality" of it all.[!]
